Flashback Trailer: Dylan O'Brien takes a heavy trip to the past
Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Flashback, in
which Frederick Fitzell (Dylan O'Brien, The Maze Runner) is
haunted by visions of a girl gone missing. Check out the
Flashback trailer in the player below!

    Trailer: (2mins 12secs)

"I'm excited for this film to finally be out in the world,"
O'Brien told ET exclusively when they launched the trailer.
"It's trippy, but incredibly human. I think the emotional
depth of the story will surprise people."

O'Brien portrays a young man living a seemingly ordinary life
when he starts remembering Cindy, a former classmate played
by Maika Monroe (It Follows), who vanished in high school.
After he reaches out to old friends about his horrific
visions they rediscover Mercury, a mystery drug they took
when they were young around the time Cindy went missing.
Fitzel realizes the only way to uncover what happened might
be taking another terrifying trip on the drug to remember
what happened to the girl who got away. Deep in his memories
lies the truth. The mental odyssey and mind-twisting
thriller also stars Hannah Gross (Joker) and Emory Cohen
(Brooklyn). The film was originally titled The Education of
    Frederick Fitzel.
"The film doesn't fit into any easy to describe genre box.
It's part psychological thriller, part drama, part horror,
    part coming-of-age story," writer-director Christopher
MacBride said. "I think it makes people uneasy when they
can't figure out what label to slap on something... But
those are the kind of movies I like. When you can't find a
label for something, it's usually because it's something

Flashback arrives in select theaters and on VOD June 4
before hitting Blu-ray, DVD and digital platforms on
