Whoopi Goldberg Writing a Superhero Movie About an Older Black Woman
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
In a recent interview with Variety, EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg has
opened up about the next project that she's currently working on,
confirming that she's writing a screenplay for a new superhero
movie. Unlike previously released superhero films, she revealed
that the project will instead center around an older Black woman,
who suddenly acquires new powers and has to learn to use them. It's
unclear if Goldberg would also like to star in the project or not.

"Since I was a little kid, I've been obsessed with superheroes,"
Goldberg said. "They're all saving the earth all the time. But do
you know who's really going to save the earth? Old Black women."

During the same interview, Goldberg also went on to reveal some
new details about the long-in-development third installment to the
Sister Act films which is currently set up at Disney+. She
confirmed that the long-awaited threequel is being written by Evil
Eye author Madhuri Shekar with Tyler Perry set as a producer. She
also teased the possible return of some cast members from Sister
    Act 2.

"Marc Shaiman [the franchise's composer] is just waiting,"
Goldberg said. "The nuns are all waiting. Maybe there's gonna be
some of the kids [from 'Sister Act 2']. Who can say?"

The award-winning actress is currently celebrating the 30th
anniversary of her groundbreaking Oscar win for her Best
Supporting Actress performance in 1990's Ghost. She is also best
known for her other notable performances in Steven Spielberg's
The Color Purple, and in the iconic musical comedy films Sister
Act and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.

In addition to reprising her role as Deloris in Sister Act 3,
Goldberg will also next be seen making her return to the Star
Trek universe as Guinan in the upcoming second season of Patrick
    Stewart-led Picard.

Why not do a Western along a similar casting scene? You could call it, "The bad and ugly."
